plasticity

“Every time pain is detected, push back, with full focus,
and with the specific intention of rewiring the brain
back to what it was before the chronic pain began.
No exceptions.  No negotiations with pain.”

Michael Moskowitz, M.D. – Chronic Pain Specialist

We can heal ourselves.
We get to choose if we heal ourselves.

The body like the brain has plasticity. We already know that the body effortlessly regenerates itself repeatedly throughout our whole lives.  In addition, the body responds to what our beliefs are about it.  When you set limitations upon yourself, there you will stay.  When you believe you have something you are stuck with, you will never heal.

On the other hand, if you are willing to be relentless about your belief that you can heal from a diagnosis or chronic pain, a whole other world of possibilities open to you.  When you can look at your current life circumstance with curiosity and see your results as a measure of what is working to your liking and what needs to be changed, life begins to look very different.

We are the creators of lives.  This includes all of the incredible things we have and it also includes all of the suffering we have.  In any given moment, you can make a new choice.  Is it instantaneous?  Not necessarily.  However if you are devoted to a new way of seeing yourself and your pain, miracles do happen.

I have spent many years working with people who have chronic pain and ailments.  For the first several years, I used my healing abilities to “fix” my clients.  Sometimes their pain was permanently healed in our time together, and sometimes it returned after a period of time.  It became clear to me that the missing link was giving them the tools and guidance to heal themselves rather than me fixing them.  This shift from honoring clients as creators of their wellness versus victims to their circumstances was pivotal.

It did not matter if I healed someone, even if I told them some of the root causes, when they didn’t see their own responsibility in their pain.  They would inevitably repeat the same pattern and either re-trigger the pain or a flare up would happen elsewhere.  I imagine it is similar to when someone gets a hysterectomy due to ovarian cancer and the cancer returns in the future despite the absence of the ovaries.  There is a temporary fix, but the original disturbance is still impacting the person’s energy field.  This disturbance will continue to cause ripples.

The disturbance begins to quiet when there is a willingness to look at the truth of your responsibility.  This is where true and lasting healing lies.  When you take your power back and willingly step into it, true change occurs.  Now you can choose a team that will support your healing journey based on the knowing that you are the one who has the power to activate and direct your body’s healing potential.  Step away from looking to others to do the work for you and fix you.  This will never bring you the ultimate results you want - unless of course the result in not wanting to heal.

Our bodies are magnificent designs and will respond to what we believe is possible.

Visualization is a key element to success.  You must visualize yourself healthy, the inflicted part of your body as vital, and you living a life as if this ailment was not a part of it.  Visualize it persistently, believing it to be true.  The brain doesn’t distinguish between imaginary and actual.  Two groups of people learning to play the piano, one practicing it and the other practicing it only in their heads will have almost exactly the same results (and exactly the same within a short time of having their hands on the piano.)  This is such a powerful tool that is underutilized in terms of healing the body.  And it is step number one for true healing to occur.  You must believe you are healed.

We create all of the results in our lives, for better and for worse.  Our health is no exception to this.  If you are experiencing chronic pain or any sickness for the matter, ask yourself how determined you are to change.  If the answer is a strong yes, begin with knocking out every moment of doubt about getting better and relentlessly see yourself as already healed, day in and day out.  Next, ask God to show you who your support team is to dismantle destructive beliefs and usher in the new ones.  Everything is possible when you truly believe.

Dare to Desire,
