We’ve Got Your (Giving) Back

Contribution is one of the six human needs that we are compelled towards to experience a life of meaning.  We all effortlessly contribute to others be it raising our children to creating inspiring works of art, or being a first responder to a philanthropist.  You may feel driven by a cause that speaks so fully to your heart that you feel a burning desire to lean in and contribute whatever you can towards making our world a place that is more just and more loving for all of its inhabitants.

For the past several months, I have been shaken to the core by an injustice that is in direct relationship to my passion for conscious, empowered sexuality and human relationship. It is the embodiment of the darkest, most distorted expression of sexual desire and power. It is an industry that is terrifying to even acknowledge exists in our world.  It is the practice of human trafficking.  More specifically, it is the selling of CHILDREN as sex slaves.

For years I have helped myself and other women feel more connected to their bodies, sexuality, and desires.  I have taught them how to reach within the depths of themselves and listen to the terrified voice inside that feels afraid to rise up because of their life experiences.  We live in a world where for most of us, our relationship to sex is confusing and disempowering.  We are fed messages from the moment of birth about how we are supposed to yield and serve men from a place of either supplication or manipulation (ladies this message if for you!)  Men have their own stigma in relationship to sex and sexuality.  There is praise for the animalistic approach of domination without consent, and because of this, their listening skills for serving and truly receiving a woman is profoundly lacking.  (Note for LGBTQ+ :  I am referring to the cultural messages that are force fed to us regardless of sexual orientation, based solely on what gender you appear to be.)  My focus however lies in recovering our fullest sexual potential as women, and integrating the traumatic impact these cultural narratives have had on our sexual expression.

There are so many horrifying experiences that we as women have had to endure in relation to sex and sexual dynamics.  One of the most horrifying imaginable is your child being abducted and sold, to perform and participate in sex acts in the most gruesome and violating circumstances.  If we are only as strong as our weakest link, what does this say about us as a civilization?!

While my heartbreaks at sex crimes that are exponentially growing each year, surpassing drugs and arms sales as the most profitable crime on the planet, I take my sadness, fury, and outrage, and channel it into hope.  There is always a way through the darkness.  There are so many ways to join together and contribute to put a stop to this horrific behavior.  Of course, gifting money is an essential to support teams that are in the field finding children and arresting perpetrators.  Equally as important is education and awareness.  So many people have no idea how pervasive human trafficking is.  If they are aware of its existence, oftentimes they think it is not in their country, in their neighborhood.  This is not true!  Human trafficking is highly profitable in the United States.  Traffickers and abductions happen in the quaintest of neighborhoods.  One of the biggest weapons we have to combat this treachery is looking at the truth of what is happening and knowing how to identify a potential trafficking situation and what to do if you witness something suspicious (There is a link below for a free training on this that takes little time and is so important for as many people as possible to do.)  Whether financial, educational, or something else, the main thing is that we do something and not turn a blind eye to this malignancy that hugely impacts all of humanity.  One way that I am contributing is 10% of every sale I make goes toward funding teams that rescue and reintegrate victims of sex trafficking, as well as capture and dismantle the ringleaders of sex slavery.

Did you know that the United State is the number one consumer of child pornography?  We are required to step up in a much greater way!  We must do the inner work to integrate our own sexual trauma and become sexually embodied, thriving models for our sons and daughters.  Simultaneously, we must open our eyes to the painful truth of human trafficking and other sexual misconduct and abuse that is pervasive in our communities.  We cannot abandon these children and leave them behind.  We are all in this together.  We have the resources to take a stand and make a difference.  Donate money, share information with friends and family, and expose this dirty secret.

There is a light at the end of this tunnel of insidious sexual shame that has clouded humanity for centuries.  We have the opportunity to heal and live a life of FREEDOM and PLEASURE - Every single one of us.  Raising awareness and supporting one another to embrace a life that is sexually exquisite by choosing to heal ourselves, as well as contributing to the eradication of sex slavery, is a crucial reorientation towards a thriving life and society.

Dare to Desire!
